The Union IT ministry has established a task force with the aim of enhancing internet connectivity in specific districts in Karnataka. The decision was made by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, following his recent visit to six districts as part of the Janashirwad Yatra in Karnataka.
Numerous requests were received during the visit, highlighting the need to improve the speed and accessibility of internet connectivity in various parts of each district. In response to these requests, the ministry release stated that a task force, comprising officials from the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), has promptly initiated their visits and work.
The task force officials will engage with the local population in each district and hold discussions with state government officials to assess the existing internet connectivity situation. A comprehensive report will be submitted to the minister based on their findings.
